Herb Robert (Geranium robertianum) is a wildflower of the Geranium genus. This geranium is a tried-and-true native to most northern latitudes across Europe, Asia, and North America. Herb Robert hardiness zone is 3 to 9. The wildflower will fit right into diverse terrains, from woodlands to wetlands to wild cottage gardens. Yet, this herb is commonly tied to pine forests. As such, the dashing Herb Robert one day waltzed in out of the blue and become a constant companion to my Fay garden and idyllic pine woodland habitat. If you can encourage Herb Robert to spread rhizome in your garden, then please do. This plant can grow several feet in diameter to reach the sunlight. If you need to prune the plant, then simply use this priceless pruning to make dried tea out of it. The entire plant including flowers, leaves, and roots can be dried and made into a tantalizing and medicinal tea that at once oxygenates and renews cellular makeup, thereby strengthening immunity, detoxifying, and fighting against diseases. If the plant is pruned reasonably, according to principles of fair game, then the plant will reliably renew itself for the next season. It is a very hardy plant that thrives in the dappled light of a pine forest. Herb Robert, although most at home in moist, well-draining soil, can even survive periods of drought, especially when tapped into an arbolic rhizome. Herb Robert is no store-bought, GMO’d Geranium. Is your garden organic? Is there a native or naturalized plant area? Then this plant may be of your interest. As such, it should please you to know that this precious plant is popular for the pollinators. Herb Robert is a beacon for butterflies and bees alike. Herb Robert offers essential nectar to the Orange-tip (Anthrocharis cardamines), a gorgeous butterfly as well as the Barred Carpet (Martania taeniata), a majestic moth. This offer is $50 for a 12 inch organic rooted seedling. Free shipping. Portland Plant Paradise does not mail out to PO Boxes without explicit customer permission in writing.
