The great laurel (Rhododendron maximum) is native to the North American continent. The laurel is a holy flower to the ancients, symbolizing victory, honor, and glory. The hardiness zone of the great laurel is 3 to 8. In Greek the word “rhododendron” translates to “rose tree” and the ethereal beauty of this plant from the heath family will be there front and center as the Fay awake in Spring. As such, even if one doesn’t speak Greek, the meaning of the nectar is the same. The nectar in Spring means not only survival, but pure woodland beauty of the Fay. The evergreen shrub remains throughout the year, and it will bud and bloom in Spring.
